Meet the lead instructor

Irene van der Zande

Irene van der Zande is the Founder and Executive Director of Kidpower Teenpower Fullpower International. Since 1989, Irene’s talented leadership and collaboration have earned Kidpower an outstanding reputation worldwide for developing, organizing, and presenting high quality child protection, positive communication, advocacy, self-defense, and personal safety programs and curriculums for everyone, everywhere.
Meet the course production leader

Marylaine Léger

Marylaine Léger has been teaching self-defense and empowerment skills to people of all ages and abilities since 1992. Since 1996, she has been leading our Kidpower Montreal Center as well as providing support to the training and program development for our international organization. She is deeply committed to bringing Kidpower to everyone, everywhere.
As the Special Projects Director for Kidpower International, Marylaine has been coordinating and supporting the production of this course and many others in the Kidpower Online Learning Center.
